About Coral Growth Solutions
"Growing the Future of Coral Aquaculture"
Corals in the wild and those in ocean-based nurseries remain under constant threat of bleaching, therefore we see an urgent need for land-based aquaculture as ocean temperatures continue to rise.

With decades of coral aquaculture experience, the CGS team works to design the most efficient systems with the greatest long-term coral growing capabilities.
Our ultimate goal at CGS is to provide coral restoration institutions with the greatest tools for success.

Decades of Coral Aquaculture Experience

Max Ivers
Co-Founder
Fascinated by aquariums since childhood, Washington DC-Native Max Ivers can fondly recall some of his earliest aquarium memories at the National Aquarium and National Zoo with his family. Spending most of his free time building and maintaining an ever growing number of aquariums from elementary school onward, he expanded from freshwater to brackish to saltwater, keeping live corals by the time he was in high school. Max started his aquarium career working in a saltwater fish and coral store in the local strip mall, and quickly moved to work for a local aquarium equipment manufacturer Avast Marine Works. It was here Max was exposed to commercial sized aquaculture systems and equipment, and gained a great deal of experience working with PVC and other components. Attending the University of Miami led him to intern at the Coral Morphologic lab starting in 2012, and he has been on the coral growing journey ever since. While attending business school at American University, Max worked cleaning commercial and residential aquariums. After graduation, he completed a number of facilities and projects in Miami, Jamaica and Dominican Republic. Max looks forward to continuing to bring his entrepreneurial perspective to the coral aquaculture sector.

Jack Kahn
Co-Founder
An avid Freediver and Miami Beach native, Jack spends most of his days around saltwater. Having grown up on the beach, Jack first became fascinated with marine ecosystems by observing the miniature worlds that drift to shore in orange sargassum seaweed clumps. Under Colin Foord at Coral Morphologic, Jack set up the first reef aquarium at Miami Beach Senior High School for the International Baccalaureate programme. Enrolling in the University of Miami’s Marine Science & Biology track in 2014, Jack ultimately graduated with a B.S. in marketing. This pivot was made to forge a harmonious path between humanity, capitalism, and nature. After graduation, Jack managed the shipment and packing of highly sensitive and diverse tropical fruit, gaining a great deal of experience in large scale biological sensitivities and logistics. Jack returned to Coral Morphologic in 2021 to assist with the design, building and operation of a new laboratory. Presently, Jack manages staff and life support at the Coral Morphologic laboratory.
